THRACE, Byzantion. Circa 270 BC. AR Tetradrachm (30mm, 17.05 g, 1h). In the name and types of Lysimachos. Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, with horn of Ammon / Athena Nikephoros seated left, left arm resting on shield, transverse spear in background; monogram to inner left and on throne, K in exergue. Marinescu, Early, Issue IV, 5.1 (dies C/d – this coin, illustrated); Thompson –; Müller –; HGC 3, –. Slight die shift. EF. Fine style. Extremely rare, one of two known (the other: Goldberg 65, lot 4063).
