SICILY, Syracuse. Dionysios I. 405-367 BC. AR Drachm (17mm, 3.82 g, 3h). Unsigned dies in the style of Eukleidas. Struck circa 405 BC. Helmeted head of Athena facing slightly left; four dolphins around / The hero Leukaspis advancing right, holding shield and spear; altar behind; to right, ram lying on its back. Boehringer, Münzprägungen, pl. II. 17; HGC 2, 1364. Toned, surfaces a little rough, some smoothing. VF. Rare.
