NORMAN. Stephen. 1135-1154. AR Penny (19mm, 1.34 g, 2h). Voided Cross and Mullets type (BMC ii). Ipswich mint; Rogier R, moneyer. Struck circa 1145-1150. Crowned bust facing slightly left, holding scepter / + ROGIER : L : ON : GIP, voided cross; mullets in quarters. Sadler III 1159 (dies 1/1 – this coin); Mack –; SCBI –; North 878; SCBC 1280. Dark find patina, some light marks. VF. Struck on a neat, round flan. Rare.
