Description
CALABRIA, Tarentum. Circa 272-240 BC. AR Nomos (21mm, 6.42 g, 6h). Reduced standard. Warrior, nude but for crested helmet, holding reigns and shield, on horse stepping left; EYΦ to left, API-ΣTΩN below / Phalanthos, nude, holding trident and hippocamp, riding dolphin left; ZΩΠ to right. Vlasto 929 (same dies); HN Italy 1044. Lightly toned, some porosity, small patches of find patina on obverse. Good VF.
