Description
CILICIA, Tarsos. Tarkumuwa (Datames). Satrap of Cilicia and Cappadocia, 384-361/0 BC. AR Hemiobol (7.5mm, 0.38 g, 12h). Struck circa 380 BC. Head of female facing slightly left, drapery around neck / Draped bust of female (Aphrodite?) right, wearing tainia. Cf. Casabonne Type 1; Göktürk –; cf. SNG BN 310–1 (obol); cf. SNG Levante 217–8 (same); Brindley 431 (uncertain mint). Porous, off center on obverse. Good VF. Rare as a hemiobol.
