LUCANIA, Velia. Circa 280 BC. Fourée Nomos (21mm, 6.78 g, 11h). Hybrid with Philision Group obverse, Caduceus Group reverse. Helmeted head of Athena right, helmet decorated with wreath; Φ behind neck guard / Lion standing right; kerykeion with fillet above. Cf. Williams Period VII, 492–8 (for obv.) and Period VIII, 515–39 (for rev.); cf. HN Italy 1311/1316 (for obv./rev.). Toned, deposits, scratches and marks, breaks in plating that expose core. Near VF.
