KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’. 336-323 BC. AR Tetradrachm (26.5mm, 17.22 g, 1h). Karne mint. Struck under Menes, circa 325/4-324/3 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; KA monogram in left field. Price 3429; Duyrat, Ateliers, p. 37, n. 44. Iridescent tone, slightly off center. Good VF. Very rare, particularly without royal title; only four in Pella, four in CoinArchives, and the present coin is the sole example in the ANS photofile.
