Description
GAUL, Nemausus. Augustus, with Agrippa. 27 BC-AD 14. Æ Dupondius (25mm, 13.48 g, 3h). Struck circa 16-10 BC. Heads of Agrippa and Augustus back to back, that of Agrippa wearing combined rostral crown and laurel wreath, that of Augustus bare / Crocodile chained to palm branch with wreath attached; two branches below. RPC I 523; RIC I 157; SNG Copenhagen 698. Dark brown surfaces with bare metal showing on the high points, pitting, off center obverse. Near VF.

Purchased by the consignor from P. Minns (May 1972).
