Manuel I Comnenus. 1143-1180. AV Hyperpyron (30mm, 4.41 g, 6h). Constantinople mint. Struck circa 1160-circa 1164. Facing bust of Christ Pantokrator holding scroll; nimbus with five pellets in each double-lined arm / Manuel standing facing, wearing crown and jeweled chlamys, holding labarum and patriarchal globus cruciger; manus Dei above; five jewels on collar, eight in chlamys end. DOC 1b; SB 1956. Some luster and toning, light scrape on obverse, some light scratches. Near EF.
