EASTERN EUROPE, Imitations of Thasos. Circa 90-75 BC. AR Tetradrachm (34mm, 16.64 g, 12h). “Imitative” series. Head of young Dionysos right, wearing ivy wreath / Herakles standing facing, head left, holding club in right hand, lion skin draped over left arm; x-w flanking. Prokopov, Silberprägung, –; Lukanc 1385. Toned, doubling, wavy flan. VF. Extremely rare variety, only one known to Lukanc.
