THRACE, Mesambria. Circa 225-175 BC. AR Tetradrachm (34mm, 16.75 g, 12h). In the name and types of Alexander III of Macedon. Diosk(ouridas), magistrate. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; in inner left field, helmet right; ΔIOΣK in exergue. Karayotov I 112 (O39/R108); Price 1003; HGC 3, 1567; ANS 1951.35.104 (same dies). Lightly toned, struck with worn dies, minor doubling on obverse. Good VF.
