EGYPT, Alexandria. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Potin Tetradrachm (23mm, 13.00 g, 12h). Dated RY 3 (AD 239/40). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from the front / Athena Nikephorus seated left, holding spear; shield at side of throne; L Γ (date) to left. Köln 2636; Dattari 4711; K&G 72.53; RPC VII.2 3739; Emmett 3398.3. Scratches, flan void, small flan cracks. Good VF. High silver content, rare thus.
