ANGLO-SAXON, Continental Sceattas. Circa 715/20-740. AR Sceat (12mm, 1.30 g). Series E, Secondary ('Kloster Barthe') phase, sub-variety g (Var. C related porcupines). Mint in northern Frisia. ‘Porcupine’ with triangular head right; two pellets in body / Standard with central annulet, four lines and two pellets around. M&OdV variety E, sub-variety G; Abramson 99-15; MEC 8 Series Ek; cf. North 48; SCBC 790C. Some light marks under dark tone. VF.
