L. Roscius Fabatus. 59 BC. AR Serrate Denarius (18mm, 3.96 g, 5h). Rome mint. Head of Juno Sospita right, wearing goat-skin headdress; unidentified control mark to left; [L ROSCI below] / Female standing right, feeding from her dress a serpent, erect, left; unidentified control mark to left, FABATI in exergue. Crawford 412/1 (symbol pair 215); Sydenham 915; Roscia 3; BMCRR Rome cf. 3394-3510; cf. Kestner 3394-3406; RBW 1491-2 var. (controls). Lightly toned, patches of find patina, a few light scratches.
