IMP C CARAVSIVS P AVG, radiate and draped bust right / ADVENTVS AVG, Carausius on horseback riding left, raising right hand and holding transverse scepter in left; to lower left, bound captive seated left, head right; SCC. RIC V.5 2979 (forthcoming); cf. RIC V 190 (for reverse type). Dark green patina with some toned residual silvering, slight roughness, faint scratches, minor die wear on obverse. Good VF. Extremely rare. Only two examples noted in RIC V.5. The reverse well struck.
