Description
EGYPT, Alexandria. Galerius. As Caesar, AD 293-305. Potin Tetradrachm (17mm, 7.31 g, 12h). Dated RY 3 (AD 294/5). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from the front / Draped bust of Hermanubis right, wearing kalathos with tainia and lotus petals; to right, combined caduceus and palm frond; L Γ (date) to left. Köln –; Dattari (Savio) 10791–2; K&G –; RPC X Online 76193; Emmett 4226 (R5). Brown and green patina, light porosity with trace deposits. VF. Extremely rare, five recorded in RPC.
