Augustus. 27 BC-AD 14. AR Denarius (18.5mm, 3.82 g, 6h). Lugdunum (Lyon) mint. Struck 8 BC. Laureate head right / Caius Caesar on horseback galloping right, holding sword and reins; to left, aquila right between two signa. RIC I 199; Lyon 69; RSC 40. Deeply toned, a pair of bankers’ marks on obverse, edge tests and scrapes. VF. An attractive coin in hand.
