KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great'. 336-323 BC. Æ (12mm, 2.00 g, 7h). Uncertain mint. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Club above quiver-over-bow; no control marks. Unpublished. Dark green patina, light roughness, slightly off center on reverse. VF. Rare.
Price 267 has the types as they appear here, with no control marks, but the style of the obverse on this piece is clearly eastern, and the royal name on 267 is split across the upper and middle fields. There are a number of eastern issues similar to this coin, but all have control marks.
