PONTUS, Trapezus. Elagabalus. AD 218-222. Æ (27mm, 11.75 g, 12h). Dated CY 155 (AD 218/9). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / Mithras on horseback right; tree to left; between tree and horse, servant attending to lighted altar; to right, lighted altar; further right, servant standing with transverse torch to right; serpent right and PNЄ (date) in exergue. Wojan, Trapézonte 38 (D38/R50); RG 39 corr. (Sev. Alexander); RPC VI Online 6617. Earthen brown patina. VF. Extremely rare, only two recorded by Wojan and RPC. This specimen finer than both.
