Description
CILICIA, Aegeae. Macrinus. AD 217-218. Æ (31.5mm, 17.49 g, 12h). Dated CY 264 (AD 217/8). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from the front / Hexastyle temple; within, statue of Asclepius standing facing, head left, leaning on serpent-entwined staff to left; eagle on pediment; ΔΞC (date) in exergue. Haymann 136a; RPC V.3 Online 85469; SNG BN 2342. Green patina, light roughness. VF. Extremely rare, only one known to Haymann. This, the second known specimen.
