Description
SELEUCIS and PIERIA, Antioch. Roman Republican period. 1st century BC. Æ Trichalkon (23mm, 9.68 g, 12h). Dated year 19 of the Pompeian era (48 BC). Laureate head of Zeus right / Tyche standing left, wearing kalathos, holding rudder and cornucopia; above Tyche, thunderbolt; IΘ (date) in exergue; all within laurel wreath. McAlee 77 = RPC I 4217.4 (this coin). Brown patina with light earthen highlights, roughness, obverse off center. VF. Very rare.
