Saffarids. ‘Amr b. al-Layth. AH 265-288 / AD 879-901. AV Dinar (25mm, 4.08 g, 2h). Shiraz mint. Dated AH 286 (AD 899/900). Lloyd –; Bernardi –; Album M1402; ICV 1438. Good VF, creased and cracked. Extremely rare and apparently unrecorded; believed to be the earliest known gold coin from the mint of Shiraz.
