LUCANIA, Herakleia. Circa 281-278 BC. AR Nomos (21mm, 7.72 g, 9h). Time of Pyrrhos. Archias, magistrate. Head of Athena right, wearing Corinthian helmet decorated with olive wreath; monogram behind / Herakles standing facing, wearing head of lion skin with its legs over his left arm, crowning himself and holding club; APXIAΣ and cornucopia to left, monogram between club and leg. Van Keuren 96; HN Italy 1394. Toned, some die wear, area of weak strike, light scratches. Good VF.
